Today what Panamanian President Juan Carlos Varela announced
after his November 16-22 state visit to China became official.
Starting in early 2018 Air China and Copa Airlines will begin a twice weekly international connecting flight service between the two countries.
Since President Varela's announcement, Air China Executives have held talks with Panama's Representatives from Tocumen International Airport to discuss the specified requirements needed.
Now weeks later officials from both countries announce the connecting flight service, (with a stopover in Houston, Texas), are expected to begin as early as March 2018.
As news of the new partnership was released, few were surprised to learn that Air China has future plans to open a regional office in Panama. Especially with Panama's potential that currently offers flights to 35 cities throughout the Americas and Europe and Air China operating in 38 countries with flights to 180 cities.
